Is there more to life than this?
We find ourselves constantly looking for answers to bigger and deeper questions in life. But what we don’t realise, is that we are not alone in this.
Everyone has questions. We should have the opportunity to explore life and faith where we can freely ask questions and share our point of view.
This is where Alpha comes into it.
Alpha is a series of sessions exploring life and the Christian faith. It is run all around the globe in homes, workplaces, churches, pubs and cafes. It is designed for those who wouldn’t necessarily call themselves Christians or church goers, but are curious about the bigger issues concerning faith, spirituality and the meaning of life. Alpha is a safe place to explore these things, and provides an opportunity to meet some great people, share a home-cooked meal and join in a judgement free, open conversation around some of life’s biggest questions. And it’s free!
Alpha includes three key elements: food, a video and good conversation.
| First up there is food. Eating is a relaxed way to make new friends and connect with like-minded people who are on the same journey. |
|
| Then there is a video. There are video presentations designed to engage and inspire conversation. They explore the big issues around faith and unpack the basics of Christianity, addressing questions such as:
|
|
| Followed by an open discussion. The small group discussion is the best part of Alpha as you get the chance to share your thoughts and ideas. There’s no obligation to say anything and there’s nothing you can’t say. In fact, at Alpha you can ask anything. No question is too minor or too big to discuss. It’s an opportunity to hear from others and contribute their own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment. |
If you know of anyone who you think might be open to Alpha and would be interested in coming along, then please invite them along, and then come with them.
